Explore Loomis

Loomis is named after a jack-of-all-trades, James Loomis, who once ran the town’s saloon, railroad agent and served as the postmaster. At the beginning of the 20th century, Loomis was considered the second largest fruit station in the county. Loomis, which covers 7.2 square miles, officially incorporated in 1984 and has maintained its unique, small-town feel. Loomis now has a population of 6,733 and features some of the area’s best wineries. The town’s bike trails and picnic areas are beautiful and its parks offer great playgrounds for children.
